THE FIRST annual Kermode Festival of Lights was a success Dec. 1, say organizers.

Close to 300-plus families and friends took in gingerbread decorating, horse-led sleigh rides, hay wagons with carollers, fun with bears, glow sticks, gingerbread decorating and free hot chocolate at George Little Park.

And on this cold, magical night, Santa dropped in for a short visit.
