Terrace community members threw on aprons May 11 and worked at two local McDonald's to raise money for charity.
One dollar from every Big Mac, McMuffin and Happy Meal was donated to the R.E.M. Lee Hospital Foundation.
The event, which ran from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. raised $5,000 locally, which is $200 more than last year.
This year marked the 18th annual McHappy Day.
McDonald's locations across Canada took part in the fundraising event, raising money for different children's charities nationally.
Last year the event raised $3 million for charities in Canada.
