PICK UP a candy cane and get a friendly reminder about driving safely during the holiday season this evening.

West Pacific Region Traffic Services, also known as the highway patrol, and the Terrace RCMP in conjunction with the Terrace Fire Department, BC Ambulance, and the Terrace Auxiliary Constables will be conducting a Candy Cane Christmas Checkpoint at Ferry Island at 4 p.m. today, December 14.

The purpose of this checkpoint is a public relations event in preparation for Christmas to remind drivers to stay safe on the road.

We want everyone to enjoy their holidays - have a great time and make sure you plan ahead for a safe ride home, says Sgt. Pamela Scott, the officer in charge of West Pacific Region Traffic Services.
