For people who need a little extra help doing their income taxes, there are some clinics in town that can help out.

Eligible people who can receive free assistance from a volunteer at the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) include aboriginal people, individuals and social assistance recipients, newcomers to Canada, seniors and students.

Three places in town offer tax preparation clinics.

The Happy Gang Centre offers the service on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to noon to April 29 downstairs without appointment. The centre and downstairs are wheelchair accessible. For more details, call Ron at 635-3819.

Kermode Friendship Centre has the service available Mondays and Fridays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. to April 30 with an appointment and drop-off. Walk-ins are welcome. For more details, contact Jamie 635-4906 ext. 30 or jges@kermode-fs.ca.

The Terrace Women's Resource Society offers year-round clinic dates for women only with an appointment and is wheelchair accessible. For more details, contact Coco or Ann at 638-1863 or twrc@telus.net.
