Emergency services hold up traffic
TRAFFIC WAS backed up along Hwy 16 between the new bridge and four-way stop this evening by emergency services, but it wasn't an accident that brought them out.
Rather, it was them trying to help prevent accidents during the holiday season.
Terrace RCMP, West Pacific Region Traffic Services, also known as the highway patrol, paramedics and city firefighters handed out candy canes at the Emergency Services Candy Cane Christmas Checkpoint near Ferry Island for an hour this evening.
They took time out to stop vehicles briefly, give them a candy cane and remind motorists to drive safely during this holiday season.
