LOCAL POLICE officers won the fourth annual Guns and Hoses charity hockey game, and helped raise about $6,500 for Jumpstart recently.

Terrace RCMP beat the Terrace Fire Department 5-2 on November 9, taking back the title they lost last year.

This is the second year that I’ve played in the Guns N’ Hoses game. It is for a great cause. Jumpstart is equipping kids for life, because participation in organized sport and recreation increases a child’s chance for success in life, says Inspector Dana Hart, Officer in Charge Terrace RCMP Detachment.

The members of Terrace Detachment had a great time, and it was a bonus to get our title back this year!

All proceeds are donated to Jumpstart, a charitable program created by Canadian Tire that helps financially disadvantaged kids participate in organized sport and recreation by covering registration, equipment and/or transportation costs.

All of the money raised goes to children.

The following sponsors made this event possible: I Seas Adventures, Canadian Tire, Chances Casino, City of Terrace, Northern Savings Credit Union, Progressive Ventures, Sandman Inn, Northern Motor Inn, Alternative Tax and Book Keeping, Northwest Fuels Petro Canada, Fish Tales, Fiori Designs, Van Houte, Bear Country Inn, and Edward Jones.
