Knights give big bucks to food bank

THE KNIGHTS of Columbus gave a very generous donation to the Terrace Churches Food Bank recently.

Germano Carrita from the Knights gave food bank president John Wiebenga a cheque for $7,000, which Wiebenga says was "very gratefully received."

The food bank opens for one week a month from October through May to help people get through that last week before the social assistance cheques come out.

On occasion if demand is high, the food bank will open in June.
