Public helps out volunteers
A FUNDRAISER barbecue for Volunteer Terrace helped bring in about $800 last week.
THe event, held in Brolly Square downtown, fed people hot dogs and hamburgers for a small donation.
Volunteer Terrace's Lovina Tyler said the office has been super busy.
Volunteers are always welcome and she reminds people that volunteering doesn't mean a huge commitment of time – people can agree to volunteer for a couple of hours every week or maybe a couple of hours every other week.
Some volunteers only help out for events.
Even though summer is still here, Tyler asks people to think about becoming a Snow Angel this winter.
Snow Angels agree to shovel a safe walkway outside the home of a senior or disabled person who live on a limited income and who have little or no family help.
Volunteers are matched with one senior for the winter and they're always needed.
There are many choices of things to do for volunteers who would like to help out in the community.
