Visiting Carleton Place band performs at Thornhill Elementary

THORNHILL ELEMENTARY students listened to music from an Ontario high school band visiting Thornhill Junior Secondary School band students this afternoon.

The Carleton Place High School band is here visiting after Thornhill Junior band students visited them down east earlier this year – the last band exchange for Thornhill Junior students as their school is shutting down at the end of the school year in June.

Carleton students enjoyed dinner at the school this past Tuesday, after playing for Centennial Christian and Veritas schools that day.

Thursday, before playing at Thornhill Elementary, they hiked up Thornhill Mountain, according to their math teacher, who came along on the trip.

Their week included school concerts in Kitimat and they're off to Prince Rupert on Friday before being guests at a barbecue at Ferry Island this Saturday.

Thornhill Junior holds its last formal concert this Sunday April 29 at 7:30 p.m. at Knox United Church with Carleton Place. There will be a fee for the concert at the door.
