Terrace garbathon adds recycling to cleanup
THERE’S NEW ways to help clean up the city, rivers and even your home at this year’s Earth Day Community and Riverside Garbathon on April 22.
Any old rechargeable and alkaline batteries lying around the house can be dropped off for recycling along with cell phones, with or without their battery.
There’s also more chances to help out with riverside cleanup as only a few places were cleared last year.
A city map will be posted at the gathering site, McDonalds, and people who haven’t already chosen a place to clean up can see areas along the river that need to be taken care of.
It’s best to bring your own gloves, although there will be some available from organizers, who will also supply the garbage bags.
Last year, more than 200 people took part in cleaning up the city and area and it made a big difference.
