Terrace Kids for a Cause raise relay money with 'potty drops'
RELAY FOR Life team Kids for a Cause is back at its unique way of raising money for the relay again this year.
Starting at spring break and continuing until relay day May 12, the team is making sure as many places as possible get "pottied."
The team's colourful potty goes on someone’s lawn at the request of a friend and the team will move it if the lawn's owner pays $10 to get it removed.
For $15, people can have it removed and request for it to be placed on someone else's lawn.
For $25, the person gets "potty insurance", ensuring the potty doesn't return to his or her lawn and the price includes a request for it to be placed on the lawn of someone of their choosing.
Without insurance, the potty may return to a lawn again.
Parent Lisa Stella says the team has brought in about $700 so far. Last year, it made about $3,000 for the relay and moved the potty 132 times.
The difference was last year, there were two potties on the go, but this year there's only one, she added.
