Parents invited to book club
PARENTS AND guardians are invited to join educators from Coast Mountains School District in a once-a-month book club to read and discuss the book, 7 Keys to Comprehension: How to Help Your Kids Read it and Get it by Susan Zimmerman.
These strategies are the same ones that classroom educators are currently using and parents and guardians will be able to use the same language when discussing literacy and learning strategies with their children.
This book was written for adults wanting to support their children’s reading.
If children don’t understand what they are reading, they will never love reading and that can limit their success in school.
This book club will give parents advice about the seven thinking strategies that good readers use.
If you are interested in joining this book club, it meets the second Monday of the month.
Please join us at Cafenara at 7 p.m. for our first meeting Feb. 13.
Copies of the book will be available.
